Hello friends!!!
I would like to start off by saying thank you so much for all of your prayers and support! The enemy is not much for furthering the kingdom of God so he has already tried to stop our work multiple times, but because we serve a great God who is on our side we are here in Costa Rica safely. Satan's attacks started as we boarded the plane; "excuse me passengers we just wanted to let you know we will have a slight delay due to a non essential screw missing from the plane. However, no need to worry they just need to report it and then we will be on our way, thanks for flying Jetblue." So no big deal our flight was just being delayed a little right? well the next announcement cleared up the prior question. "attention passengers, it turns out the non essential screw was actually an essential screw and they will need to fix it so we might be here awhile, while they are repairing we are turning off the AC, yet again we thank you for flying Jetblue." It always struck me odd how those people can make a terrible situation sound somewhat manageable with a pleasing baritone voice. Anyways we found ourselves stranded on a hot plane but despite all of this we remembered who God is and instead of focusing on the problem we had the "no worries" attitude because we knew God would prevail; and prevail he did. It only took an hour until we were up in the air heading towards Costa Rica. Things were good up until our second round with Satan came when a lady in customs found it odd that Brian had two bags filled with baby clothes, yet no baby. She kept asking, "donde es bebe?" and Brian, barely understanding her, tried to explain to her in a very slow manner that he was on a mission trip and he was giving the clothes away, but as to be expected, "no comprende." Ten annoying minutes later we were free to go, and yet again God had prevailed. It was only a fifteen minute drive to 6/8 ministries, our quote unquote home for the next week. We were introduced to the missionaries we would be working with and had a quick lunch and orientation before we started things off. Immediately we were walking the streets of Alajuela to a church that has been around for twelve years and has been feeding hungry children for six. As we entered into the church there was an immediate feeling we all had of God's presence. We layed hands on the pastor and his family and prayed for them. after our prayer walk we headed back to our building and ate a delicious supper, then entered into a time of holy spirit filled worship. God is so good. After worship one of the missionaries got up to speak on picking up our crosses and what it actually means to be in total surrender to our flesh. We all pledged in a symbolic ceremony of picking up our crosses to follow God and not after our own desires. God is here, this city and country is his, and with every step we take we claim this land for the kingdom. please pray that lives are changed through love. that these people see Jesus in us instead of us doing works. these people do not need us they need Jesus. Thank you for your prayers, please continue to be our prayer warriors as we are in a battle for the kingdom of God.
Peace and Love, Travis Aultman
